Zihuatanejo is located in the State of Guerrero, on the Mexican Pacific Coast, approximately 240km northwest of Acapulco. Ixtapa, only 5km from Zihuatanjeo, is a modern tourist development planned and built by the government in the early 70's, in an area formerly full of coconut plantations. Zihuatanejo, the original town and a typical fishing village, has all the charm of the traditional Mexican culture, while Ixtapa is linked to hip Acapulco. In Ixtapa you will find big beach hotels, modern condominiums (including timeshare condos), stores, night clubs and restaurants along the marina.
